Job Description :
Our client is currently seeking and experienced electrical shift engineer to be based at a critical data centre in West London.
Education Educated to at least ONC / City & Guilds Training Apprenticeship (or equivalent programme) in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering. A minimum of City & Guilds in Electrical / Mechanical Installation. Or ONC 17 Edition IEE Regs Experience [Essential] At least five years at a similar level or equivalent working in critical data centre environments. Excellent knowledge of the operation of Mechanical & Electrical Services and plant in a critical environment. Ability to interrogate and operate BMSs systems Knowledge of current technical standards in relation to Fire Alarm Systems, Generators, Electrical Services, Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning and Water Systems Treatment. Knowledge of business critical services i.e UPS and Comms Rooms etc. Clean Drivers Licence Formulating, Assessing and Validating Risk Assessments and Method Statements Have working knowledge of Microsoft office suit applications Staff management goal setting, rota management Report writing able to provide weekly monthly reporting. Procedure writing ability to identify and create Standard and Emergency operating procedures for data centre enviroments.
[Desirable] Working in a Blue Chip environment. Working in a services supply partnership AutoCAD working knowledge.
HV Competent Aptitudes Good verbal and written communication skills. Numerate and computer literate. Character Excellent motivational and influencing skills, with high levels of personal integrity A role model for customer service excellence. Analytical Incumbents must have a high level of energy, be self- starters, confident and stable in manner. Organised, able to prioritise and deliver within high pressure, business critical environments Committed to the delivery of excellent customer service. Able to work under pressure. Able to make sound decisions when needed. Physically fit and able to carry tools and components by hand up to 20kg. Able to ascend / descend vertical access equipment. Able to work at height. Circumstances Occasional weekend working may be required. Must be flexible regarding working hours Must be available to join a call out rota. Driving Licence essential.
